Generally Me

I want to first start by introducing myself. My name is Colleen, for those of you that do not personally know me. I am a mother of one, a boy, who is no longer a boy lol, but now a teenager named Jaiden. Ever since he has come into my life, I cannot imagine what it would have been like without him. I definitely see what my parents were talking about when they said, “Just wait until you have one of your own!”  But what would life be without the irony that follows? Lol.

Over the years I have tried my hands at many things and professions but have always wanted to be an Author. I have been writing a book for several years and the only reason it is taking so long to complete is because real life is always happening. We all must support our self, and I do like some of the finer things in life, so that leads me to working a lot to be able to afford these vanities that I cannot for the life of me shake. I have obtained two degrees and several certifications that I do utilize, so it’s not like all my student debt is going to waste lol. The very first degree I received was in English and Journalism and I have finally decided to put it to some good use by starting this blog.

I decided I have wasted enough time not doing the things that I want to do and am tired of putting my dreams on hold. As I have gotten older I have developed seizures from a variety of things, but the main cause that started it all was being on the Depo shot for more years than they realized that women should be on it. It is suggested now that you can only be on it for two years, well way back in the day, I was on it for almost seven. It is also the reason that I have had a reoccurring issue that has hospitalized me for at least three times that I am now, hopefully, finally over.

Going through these trials has led me to finally see that I must cherish everyday like it is my last. I refuse to let anyone interrupt my happiness and I just do not have time for the negative. I have learned how to mentally keep my spirit positive, which in turn, keeps my life positive. I no longer entertain things that have no meaning or any direct effect on the wellbeing of my life. I am one of the lucky few mothers whose child never wants to leave their side and I am so grateful for that because this is that age where a lot of parents lose the attention of their child or lose them all together. I have had people say to me, “but don’t you get tired of being around him all the time?” Hell no I don’t! Lol. He is my mini-me and we love all of the same things, so therefore, we have a good time all the time with each other. Also, my son is the only person beside my parents that has really been there to help me when my health was not the greatest, and I will be forever grateful and appreciative to have such a wonderful child that is turning out to be an awesome human being.

So, these are the basics, and there is so much more to cover. I think besides my regular blog posts for you all, that I will start a series that will be released in chapters. I want to make this series about my best friend who is no longer with us (may he rest in heaven). Our life together and all the fun times that we have had, and all the things that we have been through are just too good not to share, so what better way than to release it as a series to you all along with my normal posts? I thought so lol.

Well, stay tuned everyone! I have many great things to come, and it will still be a little time before I can get this page to really look the way that I want, but I am working on deals with my sponsors and ad space as we speak. See you next time!
